POWDERED METAL BOBBINS
ASCO Sintering is an award-winning custom
manufacturer of bobbins used in the
transportation sector utilizing the powdered
metallurgy process. The powdered metal
bobbins are a performance-braking
component that meets NASCAR and various
other racing requirements. Advantages of the
powder metallurgy process is, it eliminates
costly machining operations and any scrap
that would be wasted material. Other
advantages of the powdered metal bobbins
produced from high temperature stainless
steel are; improves gas mileage performance,
and meets extremely tight tolerances that
improve equal loading in the brake system.
Today’s automotive manufacturing
environment requires:
- Highly engineered products that satisfy
demanding strength, mechanical,
performance and fatigue criteria
- Globally competitive pricing
- Manufacturing processes that can be
repeated over millions of cycles
- Exceptional delivery performance
- Commitment to world-class quality
Additional transportation applications for
powdered metal parts include gear carriers,
air bags, transfer case components, shock
absorbers, safety restraints, and actuator
motors, brake and seat components, to
name a few. ASCO’s creative tooling designs
allow for intricate multi-level powdered metal parts,
components with greater strength and
improved mechanical and fatigue properties
when compared to other competitive
manufacturing processes.
