POWDERED METAL LOCKING PLIERS
By ASCO Sintering, your powdered metallurgy producer
Metal Powder Industries Federation Award Winners:
ASCO Sintering is an award-winning powdered metallurgy producer, specializing in custom manufacturing of locking pliers utilizing powdered metallurgy process.
ASCO Sintering in 2003 received the Ferrous Award
of Distinction from the Metal Powder Industries
Federation (MPIF) in recognition of the components
for the locking pliers. These locking pliers are
produced to a 6.8 g/cc density, with a tensile
strength of 130,000 psi, and a fatigue limit of 41,000,
and transverse rupture strength of 210,000 psi.
Secondary operations and capabilities consist of
heat treatment, tapping, and drilling, as well as
black Teflon® finish for purposes of corrosion
protection.
The powdered metallurgy process is capable
of maintaining closer tolerances than most other
metal fabricating processes. Locking pliers
components produced by the powdered metal
process can be produced to specific metallurgical
or physical characteristics through processing or
alloying. Another advantage to producing locking
pliers using powdered metallurgy, they can be
manufactured to close tolerance in a high volume
process. ASCO also provides powdered metal compact pliers. |
