ASCO Sintering Co. adds new Engineering Manager.
ASCO Sintering continues its strong growth with the addition of Curt Watenpaugh as Engineering Manager.
Having a Masters in Engineering from Ohio University, Curt brings a unique combination of education and work experience with him to ASCO. He has been both a designer and end user of PM parts with work experience that includes the consumer markets of irrigation as well as corded and cordless industrial tools. Neil Moore, President/CEO of ASCO Sintering shared that “Curt can see it from the customer’s perspective because he has actually been there. This background gives him a very strong foundation to lead the new product development activities of our company”.
While employed at Stanley Black and Decker, Curt had the opportunity to work in a manufacturing facility in Mexico where he picked up the Spanish language. Interestingly, with a mechanical engineering degree from Bradley University his first job out of school was as a tool design engineer for Boeing Aircraft Company in Renton Washington.
ASCO Sintering is committed to the principles of SIX SIGMA/Lean Manufacturing with (16) Green Belt Engineers staffed at all levels of the company. Curt, being one of them, states that his primary drive at this stage is to learn the existing ASCO manufacturing system. But being committed to ASCO’s zero defects/process improvement programs, he has established the goal of attaining Master Black Belt Certification.
Curt is a welcome addition to the ASCO Sintering Team!
